Yeah, somewhere in the settings, you can. Or get HistoryEraser by dumapic from the market. It will clear searches, market searches, call logs, poetry much anything you want, and it's free. I use it a lot.
Additionally, you can login to your Google account at https://www.google.com/dashboard/ - click on Web History and configure how your Web activities are saved going forward.
