Searching contact comes up with state on contact card

I am trying to search my contacts for a business that has a state name as the first word in its name. When I search by the state all contacts with that state come up first. Is there anyway to search by name alone and exclude the address? I have looked at the setting in the contacts app but there is no way or sorting. The phone is a Motorola Edge running Android 10.

That probably isn't possible -- the Contacts app on my Pixel 3 XL doesn't have any specific sorting options either. For all of your contact entries, are the state names spelled out for each one, or do you use the state abbreviation? It might help to use the state abbreviation, but obviously that would be a hassle if you have hundreds or thousands of contacts whose states are spelled out.

The state is spelled out. Looking at my contacts there are probably 50 with the state in the address. Editing is possible but would take some time. Just trying to see if there is an easier way. Thanks for the reply.
