Second Screen audio player default

Ok, this is driving me a little crazy. Although I have set my default music player on my V20 to PowerAmp (removed all prior defaults on all players, selected an mp3 from my music files, and then chose a default player, and then selected "Always") so that PowerAmp automatically plays a music file, I can NOT get it to launch from the second screen from the "Play media to control" screen. Of course it used to use the stock LG Music player which I disabled.

I know I could just add an app shortcut but, this would mean I'd have to remove one of my current 5, which I don't want to do. And the reason this is bothering me is because I got this to launch Neutron from the "Play music to control" screen. Even after uninstalling Neutron, this screen won't launch PowerAmp. I can only control it AFTER I manually start PowerAmp elsewhere.

I'm baffled what about Neutron (a setting perhaps?) makes it launch on this screen (even when it's NOT the default V20 music player) and not PowerAmp?

I have AT&T. We don't have LG music, so it forces Google play on me. I can't figure out a work around either

So I downloaded amp and cleared the default music player... only google and lg music were choices offered when i then played a music file. Looks like an amp thing not the lg phone?

While on the topic I noticed you had both Neutron and amp. I am looking to choose one or the other, any input on why you are using power amp? thx

I've happily used Neutron for years. But, the new alpha build for PowerAmp just sounds better to my ears. Gets louder too. Plus the UI just plain sexy compared to the industrial, generic look of Neutron. PowerAmp is skinable too, where Neutron is not. PowerAmp also has the visualizations (a few built in spectrums, and many more visualizations from the Milkdrop platform)
