Secure folder seemingly deleted items in transfer. How to get them back?

So I just got secure folder to protect some pictures and videos I had in a S7 Edge.

So I used the "add files" button to protect them

Transfer to secure folder started fine and then it stalled on 10/15 and a notification popped up that said something like "transfer cancelled 15 files added"

Now none of them are in secure folder or the original folder they were contained in.

So what is my next step.

Welcome to the forums. I have never had to recover lost files before, but there are some PC programs that can possibly do this. I am not sure which one to suggest though.
