Security / Fingerprint Question

I currently have fingerprints setup for unlocking my phone, logging into lastpass (and a few other apps) and using Samsung Pay.

I am sick of using my fingerprint to unlock my phone and just want to swipe. My question is, if I go to Lock Screen and security, screen lock type, and change it to swipe, I am asked if I want to Cancel, Keep Fingerprints, or Remove Fingerprints. Obviously I know what Cancel and remove fingerprints will do... My question is if I choose Keep fingerprints... Can I continue using my fingerprint for Lastpass and Samsung Pay and any other apps that are escaping my mind right now but use the fingerprint scanner? Or does the fingerprint lock screen have to be active in order for fingerprints to be used elsewhere in the OS?

Thanks!

Yes you can. That's what I am doing right now and I've been able to use my finger print for everything else still.

Thanks, Gonna try it now! Not like anyone ever touches my phone except me, I don't need no stinkin' lock screen :-)

I don't see the big deal, but to each his own. For me its essentially a long press of the home button when the display is off. Display comes on and phone unlocks. If it were a pin or a password, then yeah, but its just another 1 second to place your finger over a button that is already being pressed.

9 times out of 10 that's all it is but that 10th time it doesn't recognize my finger print even though I've registered all my fingers to make it as simple as possible. And that's not often, but when it happens it's so annoying. And I honestly have no need for the screen to lock like that. My important stuff is password protected, and if someone wants to read my texts then that's fine haha

Along the same lines... is it possible to increase the number of attempts before the 'try again in 30 seconds' message? I needed it to open now, not in 30 seconds.
