Just in case, have you tried ''pinching' your home screen with two fingers instead of a long press? This is while using the stock launcher.

I just tried that and it did the same as long press. I did clear cash and storage. When I long pressed this time the + sign in the upper left highlighted and said more widgets. So they have hidden them slight. Thanks for the suggestions.

Excellent, glad you managed to access your widgets. Probably something got stuck in the launcher after the update and clearing data helped.
