See if you can help me fix some quirks

Ok guys, after having the X since September, I am LOVING this phone. There are a couple things that bug me though.

First, something I am doing is causing the car dock screen to come up at least once a day. I've noticed that when it comes up once, it starts coming up more often. It's usually after the phone has been in my pocket and I unlock it. Any ideas on what I might be pressing to cause it to do this?

Second, when I have an email waiting to be read, it will give me repeated notifications. My BB would beep once to let me know it was there and that was it. The DX beeps every few minutes to let me know. Even worse, when I have an email from my exchange account from work, it seems to beep at least once a minute. I find that incredibly obnoxious and can't find a way to change it. Any help there?

A possible cause for the car dock issue is if you have anything magnetized in your pocket. When you put your phone in the car dock, the phone knows this by a magnet within the dock. Your phone might be thinking it's in a dock if there is a magnet in your pocket.

I would guess that you probably have a magnet of some sort close to the sensor on the phone and this can trigger the car dock.

Usually the notification repeat usually depends on how often you set the sync settings time. every time the device checks email and update notification the alert usually sounds again but I am unsure how it could happen every minute because the minimal amount of auto update is 15 minutes.

Hmmm, never carry anything in that pocket besides the BB curve that I have for work occassionally... I'll have to see if I notice it after I've been around something possibly magnetic. Thanks for that tip.

As far as the notifications, I have it set to push, so I guess that's why it beeps crazy often with the exchange account. Wish there was a way to fix that.

Firstly I agreed with the others. Either you have a magnet close by or you hit the "Car Dock" app icon before locking. Do you use a case with magnet closure?

Secondly, do you have any third party mail apps, LP+, ect?

I just have my stock communication apps on my X and it only beeps at me once. Even through polling cycles.

No case, nothing else in that pocket. Definitely not hitting the car dock icon, that I'm sure of. Wonder if I'm walking through stores with the magnetic security things at the door.... I'll have to check to see if I notice a difference there. Hmm...

And yeah, I'm running LP+.

Regarding the notification issue, go into gmail, menu>more>setings and at the bottom, make sure you have checked Notify Once.
