Seeing SD card like an external hard drive on Mac

Hi all,

Does anyone know how I would be able to see the SD card in the S3 as if it were an external hard drive or UBS stick (on my Mac)? I just switched from a Droid 4 to the S3, and I used to have access to both the internal memory and an 32GB SD card on the D4 as if they each were hard drives. That's how I used to move media onto the phone (using Syncr), as well as just simply dragging and dropping other items.

The two USB modes on the S3 don't allow me to see the SD card (or the internal memory) on my Mac. One of them ("Media device (MTP)") says I can download a google app for the Mac that will connect to the S3, but when I did that and ran the app, the app states that no Android phone was found. The other one ("Camera (PTP)") is, I assume just to transfer pics to/from the S3.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

I wish there were a way. I can't find one. I had to resort to using the Android File Transfer program and doing everything in Camera PTP. When you select Cam PTP, it tells you the website to go to to download AFT.

Sucks...I loved being able to plug in the phone and just have it show up as a drive.

The end result is basically the same, but going through AFP I wasn't able to make isyncr work, so I just had to drag and drop files.

Syncmate allows you to mount the SD card to the Mac.

I am using iSyncr wifi though. I like it better. I am able to move my iTunes playlists, etc to the GS3 and my photos off the GS3 back to my Mac. You can direct iSyncr to use the internal or external SD card to store your music.

Not sure about mac but on pc when my phone is plugged to the computer I have both the phone and sd card storage. Able to pick which one I want to use. Sure this isn't possible on Mac? That would be weird this isn't available on Mac.

It's not natively supported on Mac. I had to use SyncMate. BTW SyncMate is a little quirky, but let's you accomplish what you need to do.
