Hi! I'm getting frustrated than the device likes to turn off the screen when I try to take screenshots. Would a a screen capture app be recommended at this point?

Check your phone settings under convenience tools and you can enable three finger swipe down to take a screenshot..

Also, if you bring up the App Overview/Recent Apps, there should be a Screenshot option for each app that shows up. (This might depend on which Android version the phone is running.)

App Overview? Where would that option be?

I tried the 3 finger swipe down method was even less accurate than the 2 button method. Are there options within?

Wow really ? It seemed easy to me but I don't have the phone to test it ....there are few in the Google Play store with good reviews and a good amount downloads

App Overview is another name for Recent Apps. If you're using 3-button nav, it's the square button. If you're using gesture, it's a swipe up from the bottom of the screen and then a brief hold in the middle of the screen.
