Seidio active case v.s. surface case

Looking at the seidio active case with holster vs. the surface case with holder.

Which is better? My needs are protection if I drop it, and the ability to carry on my belt or carry in my pocket.

Is one thicker than the other?
Both seem to come with a holster so either should fit in my pocket but is one too bulky?

Looks like both let you store the phone with its face agains the holster to protect it
