Select multiple photos in Gallery?

Am I missing how to select multiple photos in the stock Gallery App to delete multiple photos, share multiple photos, etc. Or am I going crazy?

I realize I can use Google Photos or a 3rd party app. I'm asking about the default stock app.

ETA: Nevermind. Found it. You must first hit delete or share, then you can select multiple files.

Same with T-Mobile visual voicemail. First tell it what you want to do, then tell it on which items to do it.
