selfie timer gone after Nougat update

Hi, I know that the timer iron is now in the settings menu, but I preferred it when it was on the actual camera screen, you could set it and unset it quickly. Now it's cumbersome, without if you're using one hand, and not only that, but the timer setting applies to all photos, not just selfies. They've really botched this up. Unless I'm missing a way to make it work the old way, any clues please, or am I suck with it this way?

I am as equally unhappy about this. You used to be able to have timer off in regular rear facing mode and on in the selfie mode. But no longer. Please fix!!!
