semi bricked any idea?

I have have evo 3d with 1.5 s on unlocked bootloader. Yesterday I went into my 4ext recovery, wiped cache+ davlik and wiped data and flashed New_Tribs_Shooter_S_Skinned_ICS_Sense_3.6_Ver_1.3_ .zip.
after that phone rebooted and only search button lit up. I could not get past white HTC screen. Now I tried to restore my backup, flash stock Rom, flash roms and nothing works. I cannot get past white HTC screen. When I reboot from recovery only search button lights up, when I reboot from h boot they all light up. Please help. Phone still charges, I can still access recovery and h boot menu so I know it's not perm bricked. I'm freaking out guys.

It's not bricked Flash a 2.17.651 base Rom thru the command prompt via fastboot......if you want to flash the Rom you mentioned you have to upgrade your hboot.

its done. thats exactly what i had to do. but not only did i relock phone and return to stock, i went ahead and re unlocked bootloader and flashed su and 4ext recovery and did the juopuntbear wire trick and i am now S OFF. HELL YEAH. thanks for your help. it has truly been a long day for me lmao

Now update to hboot 1.58 and be done with this hastle! Glad you fixed your phone, I know the feeling.

Pergerson6 I gotta say thank you for all your help. This weekend has been crazy. And I got pretty worried doing the wire trick. Nobody tells you 2 things about juopuntbear: 1.) Once you run controlbear.exe and it accepts your device there is no turning back. You MUST complete wire trick to have a working phone. 2.)you have to tap wire in outer hole and tap metal case, hold until screen goes off and tap again. I could be wrong and sorry if I am but I didn't see a guide that mentioned a 2nd tap of the metal case. it failed like 12 times until I did the 2nd tap. now my question Pergerson6 are these if you'll indulge me. I assume I have to update h boot to flash a stock ics ROM right? can you recommend a stable stock ics ROM with working 4g and wifi tether? Do gb roms work on that h boot? Flashing a ics is what got me messed up on Friday asks trust me I smile every time I see s off. I even flashed mikvirgin and voice calls work but wifi tether still didn't. Does it with the stock ics roms? And its weird but my search button is still the only thing that lights up from recovery but roms load now. I assume its because I'm s off. I have a feeling if id stayed s on rooted today and not did write trickvI'd be effed lol. again thank you so much for your help

I would update to 1.58 to be safe. I'm running android revolution right now, and I must say it looks stock but runs far smoother than any previous ics Roms I've used. I'm loving this phone a lot right now. If u have nandroids of GB Roms I would keep them I don't think fresh installs work with new hboot.

went ahead and updated software and flashed tribs solid ROM. Its stock but deodexed. Everything works. Must say I didn't know updating firmware would lock my bootloader but I'm s off so I'm still rooted and this ROM is Stable. Love it

You should still be able to flash anything you want. At least I think you can. Right now I'm using team venom's viperS Rom. Besides WiMAX not working due to all of the LTE files on it, this is one of the most complete roms I've ever seen. Sense 4.0 ics 4.0.3!

unfortunately I need wimax. Using it now as I type this lol. Would love a sense 4.0 Rom but I know none will include wimax. You're right though I can still flash anything and still have superuser access. Honestly being s off with a locked bootloader I have not noticed one difference from when bootloader was unlocked. So glad I did the wire trick
