Day one Palm Pre owner, love WebOS, hate Leo Idiotheker and HP! And I guess I can now add Motorola to the "Hate List"!

I had the iPhone 3gs, didn't like it, so I returned it. Got the original Evo on day one, used it for about 3 weeks and liked Android better then iOS, but still returned the Evo and went back to my beloved Palm Pre. When the Evo 3D came out I got it also on day one and liked it very much, but gave it back and you guessed it, I went ahead with my Palm Pre. I knew the Motorola Photon 4G was coming out so I figured that would be my definitive jump into Android, and it was indeed! Although I still, (one year and a month after getting it) keep on doing gestures on the Photon and then realizing is not the Palm Pre! :) Oh well, I still get my webOS fix whenever I want since I am the proud owner of two "PalmPads" (TouchPads, one is my wife's)!
By the way, I also had the iPhone 4 and later the 4S, the 4 I gave to one of my nieces for her birthday since she wanted one, the 4S I returned it to AT&T

I do love many things about my Photon, especially getting rid of only one or a few notifications at a time (almost like the Palm Pre) from the drop down with out clearing all of them, but am very, VERY disappointed at Motorola for not keeping their promise about releasing ICS for us Photon users!
Now that I found out that the Galaxy S3 apparently will be sold for $50 at Sprint on Nov 23, I'm thinking on getting it, but not sure if I should, some issues kinda bother me, I'm not sure about TouchWiz, never used it before.
Don't know if SGS3 on Sprint will get JB pretty soon, like before February 2013 soon!
When in hell do we, Sprint users in Raleigh, NC will get 4G LTE? I'm happy with 4G Wimax on my Photon.
Also, could I get rid of just one notification without clearing them all on the SGS3?!

Well, as you can see, not only I introduced myself to you my fellow Android brethren , but I also seek for some advice and wisdom from all of those willing to help. Thanks in advance! :)

Welcome to AC.

To answer a few questions..

Yes I can see the SGSIII getting Jelly Bean soon. Maybe within the next month if Samsung is smart to keep their customers happy.

Yes you can clear out notifications one at a time selectively or all at once.

You would have to check the update schedule for your area on the LTE upgrade. This has been a slow process which is expected because they are essentially rebuilding the network.

If this $50 price on the SGSIII is true that is a steal my friend for such a high end device.

Touch wiz is like any other UI overlay from the OEM. Either you like it or don't, but there is also some options to make things a little better like many custom 3rd party launchers your can use to customize things a bit more.

Thanks Paul627g! I appreciate the answers you gave me, I will take them in consideration and like you said, for such a high end device $50 is a steal, so I will keep my mind open to this.
