How do you all send GIFs via the standard messaging app on the LG G6? I'm using the standard keyboard and it lets me do a gif search but won't let me add it to my message. I keep getting an error.

Just wondering why this doesn't work and how you get around it?

none that I know of. Personally I have to switch to Google Messages to send them.

To be fair it's the same issue on my Note 8. So it may be. TMObile thing.

I had the same prob with my note 4. Tried downloading the Google keyboard and android messages apps which didn't work. I now use messenger when I want to send gifs and videos, it works well. Prefer to use my normal text but too frustrating finding a fix. Hope this helps.

I'm no fan of iOS, however this is one advantage that iOS has over Android. For years it was a pain in the *** to video call with android due to the fractured nature of Android while iOS had it built directly into the dialer app. Google has just now finally followed suit. Hopefully GIF support in the main messaging app will come soon, but how long will we have to wait?

The video chat I get.

The gif thing can be done by pretty much any keyboard you use.

The gif's are actually there on the keyboards like Gboard which I use, and you can actually pick one out. But it gives you an error saying it cannot be attached.

I don't see this with Gboard and Textra. I send them all the time.

I just tried to send a gif found with Gboard attached to a text message using the standard text app and it said it could not be attached.

The standard messaging app on this is Android Messages, right? I usually use Textra, but switched to AM, and was able to send gif via Gboard.

The keyboard options only lets you choose gifs from a limited bank of reaction gifs. How do you send a gif via a custom url?
