Some thing has changed with android, with my previous Galaxy S9 I could easily choose a photo from the gallery and send it as an attachment to my Outlook.
Now it's embedded in the body of the email, which is very inconvenient if you want to save the image.
I could do the same thing with Messenger, now the same problem.
Any ideas?

Are you starting within the gallery app and using the Share option, or are you starting within Outlook while composing an email and using the Attach option?

Need more details about what you are doing.

As a general rule, make sure your email app is sending the emails as either plain text or HTML, never RTF.

Which email app are you using?
Which email service are you using?
What are the email attachment settings you are using?

Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
I'm using the Outlook email App with an IMAP service. Regarding the settings you refer to,I'm confused. Do you mean the setting within the APP or the setting on my computer?
Please advise.
