I have started a new Samsung S24 with Android 14. Using Google Messages, I have tried to send a message to my email address. - without success - it goes but isnt received at my email. I have looked at entry of the correct email address. Other emails are arriving correctly. Texts are sent and received at phones ok. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I didn't know it was possible to send a message from google messages, to an email address. I just tried it now, and for my test scenario it seemed to indicate sent by mms. My guess is that if the email address you are trying to send to was not used to sign-up for or to register for RCS, then the google messages app sends it as mms, and then if the email address service does not have an mms receive capability/server (per say), then the message ends up in limbo or discarded at some point, as there is no ability for the sent mms to be received/translated into email and then forwarded on as an email (per say).

Interesting, and you sent the texts using the Google Messages app?

I'm kind of now remembering something like this working before with Telus carrier in Canada. For example, sending an email to a certain Telus related email address that has the telephone number as part of the email address, would result in the carrier sending the content as an sms message to the telephone number (and/or vice versa).

Yeah, this is a list of email addresses that carriers use or have used: https://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm
