It seems to happen 100% of the time to iPhones and 30% when sending to an S9...when sending a picture the actual photo gets reduced by say 60% if not more. It's like an auto random cropping is going on. I can't say if an update caused it but it is becoming super annoying. Any ideas or anyone experiencing similar issues?

Are you sending via Facebook Messenger? If so, this seems to be a recent common bug associated with both FB Messenger and Samsung devices. Does the same thing happen using the stock Messaging app?

Mms will compress photos... but cropping them? Weird. What messaging app? I wonder if this is happening when you're sending to a phone that is using a more "legacy" way to receive a media message. Non-rcs capable devices will compress or reduce media messages depending on the app or even the carrier. RCS capable devices cand send full resolution photos and even video depending on carrier configurations...and mms text length is virtually unlimited.

I'm willing to bet money it's FB Messenger. We're seeing a lot of complaints about this issue.

I use FB messenger as my default, it seems screenshotting the picture and sending that instead circumvents the issue. Thanks for the info all.
