Sending SMS or MMS to email

I have in the past sent SMS or MMS messages to my own email address. When I send SMS or MMS from the EVO, they never seem to arrive at their destination... Not getting tagged as spam, junk or otherwise diverted.

Has anywhere else had this issue?

Yes, I can send email to the phone emails addy (phonenumber@pm.sprint.com I think)

No, I have not tried other apps. Wouldn't the application front-end make no difference in regards to an SMS message going through Sprints system to my email, though?
