Sense 3.0 - Sensation vs. EVO 3D

I prefer the Sensation's implementation of the spinning home screen. It seems like it could get annoying really easy and seems way too easy to trigger that spin on the 3D.

You prefer lag?

Again, who says its LAG? The 3D may have a more touch sensitive screen and if it does, that wont be a good thing. We dont know yet until someone compares the two and if the only real difference is the 3D can spin a dumb carousel homescreen faster, who is going to care?

How do you know it isn't LAG? I've heard many say that there's lag in sensation on reviews and I've seen the phone lag on videos. I don't care that you're butthurt that your sweet little sensation lags on the main part of the phone. Stop being so sensitive everytime a phone you like isn't as great as you hoped it was. There is obviously a comparison video on the front page of this thread....and from what's shown, the Evo 3d is faster.

You both have made your point so please move on.

Lag, delay, low touch sensitivity on the screen. Whatever you want to call it, it's there. Not a huge amount by any means, but it's noticeable, which can clearly be seen in the video. Just personal preference on how big of a deal it is or isn't. And, at least from the five minutes that I played with the Sensation at T-Mobile, it seemed to effect more than just the carousel animation.

In the end, they're both great devices though.

Ok, give me an example so I can try to replicate it on my phone then. Playing with one in a store for a few minutes and using one day and night is a big difference. Who knows what was loaded on to the device in the store or how it was set up. It may have even been effected by the area the store was in.

Don't know who you're reffering to, but I would hope you're mature enough to have a discussion. I don't see the sensation carousel as a lag, I see it as if you REALLY want the thing to spin like that, it should require SOME effort. I've seen people spin the 3D's screen without even trying and for ME, that will get annoying. Maybe others will like it to spin that easy and that's fine, but you don't see me telling people not to have an opinion or to leave a thread.

Yeah your point makes sense. I can imagine myself constantly setting off the carousel, but then again as long as you don't flick the screen really fast it should be ok.

Who gives a craps about how fast the carousel spins.bottom line is the sensation is the best device ever created for tmobile and that's that.

If not the extra RAM there could be something else going on with the SoC since the Evo 3D uses the MSM8660 and the Sensation has the MSM8260.

Either way hope it is something that can be tweaked with a future update as well. Hoping to pick up a Sensation over the weekend.

I honestly dont want the 3d screen spinning that fast. I hope it doesn't get annoying to wanna get to next screen and having to be too careful. I am still getting it though:-!

no the only difference is the Modem between the two as far as I know.

I just watched the video again and he hardly swipes his finger across the 3D and it starts flipping around. That will get annoying real fast when you are just trying to get a screen or two over. It should require a little more but as you can see from my video below, its not hard at all to get it spinning and there is no lag.

Phil obviously didn't post a bias video about the sensation vs 3d lag because he very openly loves the sensation. He just was stating that compared to the evo3d which you do not posses to compare to like Phil does that it lags just a small amount in comparison to the 3d. He wasn't saying the sensation is slow by any means.

No, he was saying it lags and doesnt spin as fast as it should. He was obviously doing it wrong because I just posted a video showing how an easy flick spins it just fine and it doesnt lag.

Also, I can see what he means by a little lag even in your video. When you spin the UI fast it stutters just a very small amount like its registering it before it carousels where on the 3d there is no stutter at all. That is what Phil was showing and he even said it could be a just a software bug that can be patched.

I watched your video and when you spin it fast enough there's a small stutter very small stutter but it's there right before it carousels. It is in Phil's videos also but if you watch the 3d right next to him it doesn't take a second to register the carousel the way the sensation apparently is doing atm. It's no big deal though I can barely catch the stutter and there will be probably a fix for that.

I dont see it. The 3D spins faster but they are two different devices, doesnt mean the Sensation lags. Maybe the Evo just spins faster, who knows. Why would we need a fix for a silly gimmick like a spinning homescreen carousel anyways? It serves no actual purpose.
