Sense syncing wrong contacts

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who ever dealt with this, and it may have been discussed already, but I haven't seen it.

Here's my issue...

I log into "Facebook for Sense" and tell it to sync with my contacts. Everything looks good on the People app. However when I go to Messages app it has combined two contacts into one thread. There is no way they are synced in the People (contact) app, so why would it put their texts together? I can't tell which one of the two I am texting.

I don't have the regular Facebook app installed, I just basically want facebook photos with a few of my contacts.

Anybody know of a solution? Is this a bug in Sense 2.1? or Sense altogether? If its a bug, I will root to fix it because it really, really drives me crazy.

got to one of there contacts hit menu then edit, click on the clip icon on the top right and see if they are linked together

That's the crazy thing. They're not. Everything is right. They are synced to the right contact there.

Yeah. Tried it. I have 2 standard batteries. I reboot alot. This has been a issue for a while. You probably don't remember but when I was talking about rooting the other day on gtalk I told you I don't like Sense. This (and the fact I hate the dialer app) is why.

My suggestion? Clear the data on the messages app (deleting all your texts), then install GoSMS or Handsent.

+1 on the GoSMS.

I use GoCONTACTS. There is a feature on there that will search for DUPLICATE contacts and then ask you which ones to merge.

Also, log into GMAIL on your computer and go into contacts and see if they are doubled there?. That is what I found happening to me.

When you get into GMAIL. Go to CONTACTS --> More --> Find and Merge Contacts

Then go back to your phone, delete all the contacts. Then go into SYNC and pick Google and then SYNC. That will make sure you are sync'd to the GMAIL.

Since I figured it out, I haven't had any issues. It drove me crazy because I would have 1010 contacts and then I would use GoCONTACTS and pick MERGE and viola....505 duplicates.

I did merge a few contacts from google, but no luck fixing the issue. Will try the 3rd party text apps next.
