Sept. 8 confirmation in MAP pricing

How are people surprised about this price tag??? I just don't get it, I can't see why anyone would suspect anything besides $299. It would have been a miracle if this came in at $250...

Exactly. $299 is pretty common for something like this. I would LOVE for it to be less, but was expecting to pay $299

I'm not surprised by the $299 price tag, but I sure as hell won't be paying that much for it.

I'd pay retail before I'd pay that much for it...

Haven't the other 4g phones been $299? I am sure the Droid HD will also be $299 when it comes out, and it will be in a picture next to a new rumored phone that everyone will want as soon as they see it, but if you keep playing that game, you'll never get a phone. Although, my perspective is coming from using an OG Droid for two years that no longer has a broken mic. I have to use speakerphone or my jawbone I purchased solely for that reason.

I paid $299 for my OG Droid with 2/year contract. I just looked at the receipt. (I'm a pack rat, just found the VZW bag with the receipt, box, and screen protectors i never used lol)

Happy to pay the same price again for something way better.

Yeah that is the common price tag on any of the 4G LTE phones big red is releasing. If you were expecting less realistically you were kidding yourself. Yeah hoping is great and helps to pass the time and create something to talk about in the forums but I wouldn't have seriously believed it would have been $250 with 2yr pricing. I pretty much planned from day one that it would be $299 watching the pricing trend for the 4G phones and can say I am not surprised like most of you who thought along the same lines that verizon put that sticker on it. I bet you 10-1 that like it was said a few posts up that the DHD and GS2 (if it is actually LTE) will follow suit with the $299 pricing. At least we finally have a date to march into a local VZW and get a new phone (or order online).

I'm cool with $300. What the hell is $50 more bucks than expected (I understand that becomes a slippery slope...) But all the same, a condense dual core device that can make calls for 300? Deal.

I just realized that sept 8 is the same day that my Green Packers are playing in the first game of the season. Looks like my Bionic won't get much love on its first night.

Just keep the NFL App running with 4G and stream all the highlights/stats from the game while you watch our GB Packers defend our rightfully owned title. Perfect way to test the signal and the battery life :)

I love how people are ok with the price at 249. But then they hear 299 and people are like WHAT?? Too MUCH!!

If 50 bucks is that much of a deciding factor when buying a phone for 2 years, you shouldn't be looking at phones this expensive in the first place.

I agree, stop complaining. Oh and stop talking about the stupid galaxy 2 phone. Samsung phones are horrible and always have been.

I wouldn't say samsung phones are horrible. Not what I was looking for but the gs2 is a beast. If it was confirmed with lte, the Bionic would be a harder buy. I'm looking for the total package and Bionic and gs2 are my options. The screen tech has been amazing on the samsung in it's own right. And the option to adjust the gs2 screen make it that much sexier. I'm just hoping the bionic screen performs better than the x2 and d3.

If the GS2 has LTE why would anyone buy the Bionic?

The build quality for one. The fear of samsung's horrible update rep. Not everyone wants to rom, but I have a feeling that most want to stay updated. Some people are not impressed with the screen tech and it doesn't matter to some. Some may have been waiting forever for a smart phone in general and the bionic is the next one out. Fanboys. Lol there are a whole slew of excuses I could make but to each their own.

The dates on the MAP for the other phones don't line up with the release dates for those phones, so I'm still gonna hope for a next week release. Then next friday i'll probably cry and hope that i'll only have one more week to wait...Oh, the end of waiting...

yes $300 is higher than what i wanted to see, but do folks think phones released from this point forward will be any cheaper??
