September Security Update

I am in the same boat. 09/27/16 and no September security update for me. I was getting every update within a few days of the month since I got the phone in December 2015, but for some reason I have yet to get the September update. Last update I got was on 08/05/16.

I enrolled in the beta again and it wanted to be download Android 7.0, even though I already have 7.0 I didn't want to have to go through the wipe my phone stuff If I download the update it pushed to my phone just for the security update. So I am not sure what to do. I guess it's not a huge deal, but I should have the update.

That's what mine said but you're not downloading 7.0 again, it just downloads the September patch no worries. I didn't have to factory reset after even though I left beta.

I enrolled again yesterday, got the September update, downloaded and immediately un-enrolled, no data wipe. un-enrolling will only wipe your phone if you have been sent, and downloaded a beta version (which may or may not be included with a security patch sometimes I guess). if it is just the security patch, don't worry about data wipe. won't happen.

That worked. Thank you all for the help! Hopefully we start getting security updates OTA in October and not have to do this every month.

So I had to get a replacement phone and I had to do all the updates from May to now and I have the September update and "U" update. And here I am looking at my original phone and I am on the "beta" N from August.

After the factory reset, still nothing.

Still didn't get the September update but starting yesterday I'm getting a ton of cats (which stopped when I did the factory reset a couple weeks ago). Odd, but at least October brought something from Google. Would be nice if October also brought some transparency from Google. You know, like, "We missed a bunch of phones with the September update but we'll make it up in October" or "Yeah. Once you're on Beta, you're always on Beta".

Current devices using Nougat are not.
It's worth mentioning, though, that current Nougat devices do support File Level Encryption - go to Settings -> Developer options -> Convert to file encryption (this does include a device wipe). I tried it earlier, when I was running NRD90T, and was seeing terrible battery life but I wasn't sure if it was FLE or NRD90T that was the problem so I ended up flashing the NRD90U build (without enabling FLE) and my battery problems went away. YMMV.

Good to know. But I was referring to seamless updates, which was what TonySmithPhoto asked about specifically.

Update. I re enrolled in the Beta programme a few weeks back, and tonight about 12.30am UK time, I got the notification of an update. It was the October security update and I'm now running on NBD90X.

I've un enrolled from the Beta programme, and will see what happens in 4 weeks or so, around the 5th November.

Just wanted to update you all.
