I run TWRP and Magisk, so it's a PITA. I'm waiting. (Google is replacing this phone anyway - there's a problem with the fingerprint scanner - and the same problem with the fingerprint scanners on the 2 replacements I've gotten so far [do I have defective fingerprints?] - and the replacements come with the March update, so I have to install the September factory image anyway.)

But it's a good update to install - it fixes a bad security hole. (https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2018-09-01)

I forgot how the Oreo updates went until a read a post on G+. If you're in the beta, opt out and within 5 minutes you'll get the update. The "opt out" won't torch anything on your phone because you're already on the release version.

I did that yesterday after hours of mashing "check for updates". I opted out here

https://www.google.com/android/beta

Waited about two minutes and got the update.

Still no September update - OG Pixel XL on T-Mobile. My niece hasn't received the update either on her OG Pixel on T-Mobile. Google said OG Pixels would get security updates until October 2019. This is the longest I've waited for a security update.

Same with me. It appears that TMo is holding it up, as Project Fi and TMo users are complaining. VZ users seem to have already got it.

It's (not) funny that Google says updates come from them on Pixel phones, but it's obvious that the carrier can block the update if they want.

I'd like to pull my SIM and try to get this via Wi-Fi to prove this, but I'm not that motivated.

My niece texted me this morning and informed me she got the update last night. I guess there is some movement, but it is still late. It will be October in less than three weeks!

Were you all on the P Beta? Go unenroll from it and you'll get your update in less than 10 minutes.
I was on the beta but unenrolled the day I got the final release of Android P it shows I'm unenrolled when I go to the beta site so that isn't the issue for me.

Also on T-Mobile US, also using a Pixel XL, also stuck on August 5th 2018 9.0 update. Also wasn't in the beta program, I got the OTA for August / 9.0 about a week after it went live.
