Serious issue! Is it "Kit Kat" or "KitKat"??

What is the proper way of writing the name of the new Android OS?

Android

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. In the footer, they have a Versions section. They list (in reverse order, to build suspense)
4.2 Jelly Bean
4.3 Jelly Bean

and finally

4.4 KitKat

Verdict is, no space.

And that is a distinction from the candy bar (at least the US, Hershy version) which does use a space when the name is written out (per their official Kit Kat site). Although, it appears that the international version made by Nestle is also KitKat, like the Android version. This makes sense since the deal is between Google and Nestle, not Google and Hershy.

I'm pretty confident it's not "Kat Kat" and from what I've seen it's "KitKat"

I've seen it both ways.

From Hershey's website (USA):

From Nestle's website (everywhere else):

And from Google's Android KitKat (or is it "Kit Kat"??) page:

Yeah! Especially since in the US, Hershey is producing it under license from Nestle.
