Serious Mint Mobile Support Issue on ESIMs

So my Pixel 5a dies without warning (subject of another post). I was using an ESIM from Mint Mobile. But planning ahead, I had a backup OnePlus 7T (SIM card only) and a new, unused Mint Mobile SIM card. So, I should be all set if I need to use my backup 7T if something happens to the Pixel, right? WRONG!!!

MINT CANNOT ACTIVATE A NEW, UNUSED SIM CARD ON AN EXISTING ACCOUNT!!! THEY HAVE TO SEND YOU A PREPROGRAMED SIM CARD IN THE MAIL. 5-7 days! I would be unable to use my Cell number for up to 7 days!!! If you use an ESIM with Mint you cannot have a backup, older phone that doesn't use an ESIM. Horrible service!

I went to Tello because I did have an unused Tello SIM card. Ported my number to TELLO entered the new SIM card ID and was up and running in about 15 minutes. I am currently arguing with Mint about crediting back my unused time.

This is another case where the push to ESIMs is still full of pitfalls. Thanks for nothing Apple.

Can't go to a store have them do it?

Nevermind I see no stores, that's why I stick with known carrier like Att and T-Mobile

Considering TMobile is buying Mint mobile, I bet there will be a store front solution soon.

I doubt this. TMo is closing their own stores now and also closing Metro by TMo stores, so I'd be very surprised if they added B&M cost to this acquisition. I'll be happy if they keep the MM pricing intact.

Exactly..esim is not a good idea. Apple did it so now everyone thinks it's a great idea.. Wait till the carriers get the great idea to charge for swapping phones. Not too mention having to go thru the carrier to do something as simple as putting a SIM card in

Anyone that had CDMA and used the *228 to activate phones can tell you this is horrible idea. Most times we were transferred to a rep.
