Seriously considering leaving Verizon for the 3D

I'm a long time Verizon customer but the spec's and preliminary reviews of the 3D have me very tempted to jump ship. I'm in Cincinnati so 4G coverage as well as voice quality on Sprint should be a non-issue, at least according to their online coverage maps. The few people I know around here who have Sprint are satisfied. My Droid X is getting old and I'm wanting to give HTC Sense a whirl along with enjoying some 4G speed goodness. I'm still under contract but could cover my ETF easily by selling my X on Ebay, plus get the $125 port-over credit so i could get a 3D for basically $75 which seems too good to pass up. Is anyone else planning on breaking their current contracts to join the Sprint team?

switching from ATT to sprint tomorrow :P

I just got the 3D and I can say that it's way better.than the initial reviews led me to believe...I haven't had any issues, the phone is ridiculously fast, and I would venture to say it would be cheaper for you as well

If I wasn't with Sprint, I would be making the same switch after just touching this phone for 5 minutes. ETF or not.

Verizons phone selection in Android is slacking. Bionic? That phone has been on another network for 1/2 year. Nexus on verizon? Joke as they lock em down. They do have the best customer service though.

i am porting my verizon number for the 3d. my incredible was broken, verizon couldn't do anything about it, they didn't have any phones better enough than the incredible to justify paying the upgrade price. now... what is this you say about a port credit? i saw nothing of this when buying my phone on amazon wireless. they haven't ported the number yet either, guess they gotta wait until tomorrow. is it an automatic thing? do i have to ask for it? whats up?

I don't have all the details, but I heard the credit promotion for porting your number over to a Sprint smartphone got extended through sometime in July. I believe it isn't instant, but a rebate that's mailed to you instead. Perhaps someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

I like verizon and there LTE is supposed to be great. However, if you aren't in an LTE area or dont travel into them a lot....hands down get Sprint and an EVO. I'm a travelling consultant and Sprint has been fantastic all over the country. I use the 4G as a WiFi replacement in hotels and stuff when tethered to my laptop for Free (PDANet). Works great, I even play games over it...though hosting games sometiems doesn't work.

That being said, if you get Sprints everything plan...you get a phone upgrade every year and verizon is about to screw people with Data i think. Also...geez Verizon is behind in rolling out cool phones.

Thanks to an uninspired phone line up, high costs of service, tier data (which wouldn't affect me, but I dislike the policy) and a large arguement over a certian charge on my bill, as of tomorrow, I'm returning to Sprint after a 5 year hiatus and grabbing me an Evo 3D.

Here's hoping Sprint continues to improve their network as they claim, would love to see them get bigger and offer a real challenge to the Big V and AT&T.

Come on over man. Sprint is running things right about now. Nice steady flow of nice phones. Decent customer service, good coverage and best of all decent prices and they havent yet started to throttle their customers with tiered data usage. One flat reasonable fee. It's nearly too good to be true.:)

I was told it would be a credit applied to your account after 60 days of service. The promotion was extended till 7/23.

Yes, I'll save $10 a month with Sprint over Verizon, plus the perks of nights starting at 7pm and free mobile to mobile calls. Sounds like a win-win-win for me!

What's the point of LTE when it costs $30 for 2GB? Racking up 11GB this month as I type this. Thank god for Sprint!!!!!!

My unlimited data plan would be grandfather'd in, but I'm still likely going to make the switch. Verizon is very uninspiring lately and I have very little incentive to stay with them. All their announcements and lack of quality phones lately really has a bad taste in my mouth.

I am switching to Sprint from AT&T 2-line family plan. After the credits and discounts I basically paid $25.00 for each EVO 3d. Life is good right now..but will be better tomorrow:)

Def make the switch as long as the voice/4G service is good in your area. Besides the fact that it's cheaper and I have great service where I live, If given the option, I'd support the company pushing unlimted data.

Had sprint for 10 years then went to t-mobile for 2 years now back to sprint for the evo3d...I've never had this much anticipation for a phone
