I know this is a newb question, but I've got a Note 4 from ATT and I'm running Nova Launcher if that matters. At some point I set the long press of the home button to launch Bing. I've not got the beta version of Cortana and would like to change to that, but I can't figure out for the life of me where that setting is. I've looked through both the android settings and the nova launch settings. Please help!

If it launches the bing app, then it's under apps, bing, clear defaults. Then next time you press it you can set it to launch a new app.

If it's some Samsung feature, then I'm not sure where to find it either...

Snapphane's response is correct... but there's more to it.

When you long press the Home button, that's the standard shortcut for the Search app, namely, Google. However, when you install a 3rd party search app, like Bing or Cortana, you can assign those apps as the default Search app to be called. BUT there's a catch: The Dev of said app must have properly coded and registered the app with your phone as a Search replacement. I'm not sure if Cortana does this or not.

So, once you have more than one Search app, when you long press the home button you are presented with a menu of the available apps and the options to use the app Just Once or Always. The latter sets the button shortcut permanently (which you can later clear if you go to said app's properties in the Application Manager and clearing the Defaults). Also, if you install a new Search app, this menu will automatically re-appear to give you, once more, the option to set the new Default. If when you installed Cortana this didn't happen, chances are Cortana isn't being recognized as a Search app. UPDATE: Apparently that feature was just added with yesterday's update, so make sure you have that.

The same principle applies to any kind of app, like browsers and Office-like apps.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I was asking because of the updated version of Cortana. I spent way too much time trying to figure that one out. Thanks again!
