Setting default apps

Does anyone know if you can change what apps are used for certain things, like having opera mini launch instead of the stock browser?

There should be set default browser option in the settings. I know on my Moto Droid with the Dolphin browser I was given this option.

If you use handcent, it has a default options as well. You need to remove all the default messaging app from doing any notifications.
