Yikes! That's awful! Older phones will sometimes shut down like that. My brother was using my Pixel 2 that was close to two years old and one day, he got a text and picked up the phone and just couldn't unlock it. So sad!

Phones' lifespans these days are, well, geared toward making you upgrade, in my opinion...

Not just phones. Everything.

My grandmother had a refrigerator she bought just after World War II. About 1947 or 48. When she moved in with mom after she retired in 1974, it was still working. We didn't have to replace it until around 1980. Since 1980, we've put three refrigerators in that same house.

It's all a ploy by manufacturers everywhere!

Yeah, unfortunately, I am old enough to remember when one of the major marketing ploys implemented by manufacturers was how long their products lasted and how high the quality of manufacture was.

Those days are long gone...
