Settings changingby themselves

As my Galaxy Note 8 (Verizon) is approaching two years old, I am experiencing frequent and increasing changes to app and phone settings which I did not make. These are semingly random changes like screen rotation from on to off, an app which is supposed to keep thescreen on forgetting to do that, etc.

Is this perhaps planned obsolesence?

From the lack of responses, I must presume that I'm the only one experiencing this problem. Good to know it is not a genersl problem.

I did hear this I believe one person in the s10 forums before , but not something common I hear .
