Hey y'all,

I have the Int'l Note 2, and my boss is IN LOVE with it and the stylus, but i JUST had convinced her to get the SGS III 3 mos ago. I KNOW how great this phone is, but i also know HOW GREAT SGS III is but i never owned one & used it day to day..

. I imagine Sprint store will give her $149.00 to 200.00 for her SGS III but she will have to pay around $350 out of pocket....Soooo my question to all of y'all coming from the SGS III, do you think this phone is TWICE as good or more like 10 times as good?

(and keep in mind she already LOVES the size, so that wouldn;t be an issue)

thanx y'all, appreciate the input BEFORE i push her towards getting the upgrade....

It all depends on what type of Android user she is. The Note 2 has all I the tools to be way better than the GS3 but all those tools cant be utilized at this time. For instance the Multi Window feature isnt enabled out the box and it takes some hacking to enable. If shes a big Google Wallet user (like myself) then she will miss that feature for now atleast. If your not in an LTE area then you wont be able to Surf the web & talk simultaneously. In no way am I knocking the Note 2, I love my Note but at the same time it seems a bit "incomplete" at the moment. I dont mind waiting for things to progress, im actually looking forward to it but some users may not feel the same. The Note 2 has plenty for her to love though and will only get better with time. Craigslist the GS3 if she needs to get rid of it, she will get more money for it. Hope this helped

If she loves the screen size and pen, it's 100 times better.

I skipped the GS3 waiting for the GN2, but there are simply things the GN2 can do that the GS3 can't.

My wife has the S3 and she now wish she waited for this one. It seems like in the long run it will allow for more priductivity in terms of using it for business or if your a student. imo

thanks for replies y'all : ) i guess what i'm after is this:

Would you say everytime u pick up the GNote and do some action, are you like,"omg i love this phone, sooooo glad i upgraded from SGS III" or would you more say, "used to so many of the things it does because you are already accustomed to the SGS III doing similar that its not standing out in your head as a HUGE upgrade from SGS III??!!

i mean, i am sooooooooooooo head over heels in love with MY Int'l Gal Note II, but i'm coming from a Samsung Infuse, (a great phone but its no SGS III : )

I had the GS3. It is an amazing phone and I would recommend it to anyone. With that being said... I am so glad that I got the Note 2. It is absolutely amazing. The new S Pen is so useful and the screen is better. Battery life is so good that I am in disbelief. Highly recommended over any other device.

I couldn't have said it better myself, I'm at 18 hours of heavy use, and I still have 20 percent left... I loved my GS3, best phone I ever had, but the Note 2 is definitely worth the upgrade

Maybe I'm out of the loop here - but I've become semi interested in swapping up to the N2 from my s3. I so spend a good bit of time on conference calls with clients and use data while on them with the S3. Does the N2 not have the dual antenna like the s3?

No simultaneous 3G and voice, unfortunately.

I just bought the s3 a little over a month ago and I love it. I initially wanted the note but it wasn't available the day I went to purchase it due to the Apple injunction. I'm tempted to buy the note 2 but for my usage its not worth it. I don't need the new features, I don't need the s pen. Plus with a newborn arriving in 7 weeks its definitely not worth it.

I purchased the s3 the day it came out. And the same with the note. I love both of them but the note takes the cake. Especially if your running a buisness.

+1 for the Orwell reference.

I have an S3 and have been anxiously waiting to change over to the Note 2. Ironically, it is a feature on the S3 that I didn't even know about initially that is probably going to have me pass on the N2. I didn't even know about SVDO (Simultaneous voice and EVDO data) before I bought the S3, but now I don't think I want to sacrifice this capability. I have been a Sprint customer for a long time. With every other phone if I was using navigation and on a call in my car I would have to hang up every time I needed a route update. When on conference calls (no Wifi) I would not be able to pull up emails, check the web etc. With the S3, I accidentally noticed that all these simultaneous voice and data applications just worked. It has made the phone more useful and enjoyable to use. I was very disappointed that they did not equip the N2 with the radio h/w to support this. Now I am really torn between keeping the S3 or going for the N2.

If it helps, the N2 does support SVDO over LTE, just not over EVDO 3G.
+1 was going to say that lol....

If the size of the phone doesn't matter, which to me is the biggest difference between the 2 phones then it doesn't matter. My wife has the GS3 and she loves it but also feels that it was big (shes coming from first EVO) but after useing it for awhile admits that the weight and thinness of the GS3 makes it feel less big. This Note2 is Huge IMO at first, it feels so big and every phone you put next to fits inside of it when you put them up against it lol .

So for your boss the size isn't an issue, then she would need to know about the not being able to use data and voice over 3g like she can with her SG3. Everything else that is not working yet fully like multitasking will work soon (hopefully) . You have been on here for a bit and I'm sure you know a thing or two about Android phones. Which ever one she decides to get, you will keep her up to date on everything. I personally say if she likes the Note2 and will need to pay out of pocket for it, then spend the cash but don't turn in the S3. Keep it up to the time she has to return it and if she is happy then sell the phone online. She will get more for it then just turning it in at the store.

Good tip on the "not doing the trade in".... i dunno, i agree with y'all about how great a phone the SGS III is, but every day i more and more enjoy owning the S Gal Note II. The size of it is a non-issue to me, especially ONCE i put the flip case on it, it INSTANTLY transformed it from, "an oversized phone" to nothing bigger than a slim pocket calculator....thanks for the replies y'all, appreciate it : )
