I wouldn't blame them. Root doesn't matter, but being able to flash unsigned images, kernels, and getting serious development does.
That being said, if I owned such a demonic device I would have rooted and flashed instantaneously, for TouchWiz is a horrifying piece of software.
we had that capability with kexec. Use EZ-Recovery to flash CWM 6.0.1.0 and bam...flash any of the Verizon GSIII roms with custom kernels. Unlocked bootloader doesn't really add anything feature-wise but could draw in more development since an unlocked device isn't quite as risky.
As for TouchWiz, the new one honestly isn't that bad and is blazing fast. TouchWiz and AOSP both certainly have their benefits.
