SGSIII ROMs Galore! The Flasher's Lounge.

I wouldn't blame them. Root doesn't matter, but being able to flash unsigned images, kernels, and getting serious development does.

That being said, if I owned such a demonic device I would have rooted and flashed instantaneously, for TouchWiz is a horrifying piece of software.

we had that capability with kexec. Use EZ-Recovery to flash CWM 6.0.1.0 and bam...flash any of the Verizon GSIII roms with custom kernels. Unlocked bootloader doesn't really add anything feature-wise but could draw in more development since an unlocked device isn't quite as risky.

As for TouchWiz, the new one honestly isn't that bad and is blazing fast. TouchWiz and AOSP both certainly have their benefits.

No doubt, in hindsight it was more of the development I was hinting at. Should take off now.

TouchWiz probably does have its benefits, but IMHO it's not even close to being a legit replacement for AOSP.

Did people really wait for an unlocked bootloader to flash? We've had AOSP/CM9 and even CM10 for a while now.

The bootloader locked or unlocked is not why I havent flashed a custom Rom like CM10 yet. Ha
I havent even flashed the Synergy Rom yet. I have been stalking the Rom's thread and had read up on all on them.
I followed kexec and understood about using EZ-Recovery to flash CWM 6.0.1.0 and then you would be all set .
I havent been using TW tho since July 7 (got S3 on July 5) TW wasnt my thing I prefered Nova Prime since used to it and run on it my nexus.

After using NOVA, rooting, debloated, removing the wifi reminder, wifi popup ,flashed the ICS blue toggle switches and now unlocked bootloader stock hasnt been to bad. :)

Also had the Nexus flashing every night on CM10(JellyBro) .or almost every night .
But it wont belong since I think they are getting more and more customizations in them to set apart from the stock look

Official CM10 nightlies for the Verizon SGSIII will be available starting tonight. The official CM10 builds require the unlocked bootloader.

I flashed an unofficial CM10 last night. Running well so far and as expected not everything works or is finished. So far, I've noticed that the LTE togglWhat else are you thinking of flashing?

I been looking at Synergy Rom ,unofficial CM10 ,another called Clean Rom.
I will looked into the Official CM10 as well now that I read your last post about it.

I've been losing data today and not sure whether it's a network issue or has something to do with the ROM. I may switch back to rooted stock for a while to see if that makes any difference.

Edit: I think it may have been a strange interaction with Phone Info. Deleted the app and that seemed to help. Of course, it could have just been the network. Anyway, staying on CM10 now.

It took me awhile to decide to root this phone. (this phone is pretty damn good stock) but I couldn't resist the itch and went with Synergy about a week ago. I also have TWRP as my recovery which is very nice. I'm sure in the coming weeks as more ROMS and kernels come out I'll be playing with it a lot more. I'm always open to recommendations on what others have had the best results with, so I'll be following this thread regularly.

Nice to see some of the old Thunderbolt crew here too. :)

You'll find a bunch of the old Thunderbolt crew over on the Galaxy Nexus Chatter thread too.

Those that are flashing the first nightly for Cm10 the mms bug fix isn't in it yet from whatwwas shared from Austen. Shoulde be today., if sending mms doesn't matter go for it. It is solid. Others there are a few unofficial versions with fix in it that work for now.. :-)

I'm still running an unofficial build since I do use MMS. Sounds like the fix will be merged into an official build soon. Plus, the official CM10 nightly soft bricked my Nexus 7 so I am now feeling less inclined to be so quick to flash.

Went back to an ICS ROM for the time being since the CM10 nightlies are very buggy. They did release 2 8/20 builds last night so maybe the updated a lot but for now I am happy with CleanROM 1.3 and just flashed the newest Lean Kernel :).

I'll probably try the 8/20 build later today. Now that I've backed up my IMEI, I can just flash away. ;)

:) Im still holding off on CM10 although that will be the one I flash .... eventually . I usually wait for 6 or so nightly builds out before I snag one up ,depends on how positive the feedback is then.

I do love JellyBean but they are really really buggy right now and rightfully so, our bootloader only just got unlocked this week lol.

Its basically stock build with all the crap removed and some cool customization features built in on install. Going to play with this for a couple days and see if I will make it my daily driver until CM10 gets up to full strength. I do notice a speed increase from full stock, and with the touchwiz version of Lean Kernel is quicker too.

I may give it a try if CM10 is still to early to use as a daily driver. Is CleanROM available at RW?

The only place I found to get CleanRom was from was here
[ROM][8/18] - CleanROM 1.3 -★| Options, Options, Options! | VRALG1 |★-
I had to register to be able to download it (unless I missed something)
Unless creccaj1 knows another site to get it from
@creccaj1 : yeah true about JB being on our S3's. It probably wont take CM long to work out the major bugs seems like they work pretty quick.

as far as my speed I ran a test the other day gotta post the screenshot I made then in a second

I don't get anywhere close to speeds like that anymore. I used to back with my Thunderbolt in the early days of LTE when there were barely any users on the network. Now, I get speedtests during the day between 3-7 Mbps.
