Shadow (Xtreme) vs. Incredible

Exactly the opposite...just a little too big for everyday use...seems they indicate the size of the Incredible is more ideal and practical.

As someone else posted in another thread about the EVO4, the Xtreme will like share this same problem:

* Resolution makes the screen look less crisp & thing look stretched compared to the Incredible.
* Size - there's a tradeoff here: the big screen is nice to look at and obviously provides a great amount of real estate for web pages and other apps, but the Incredible is a lot more pocket and hand friendly. The EVO is just huge, but that's one of it's "features". It looks a little silly walking in public texting on this thing. I feel like people are staring at me haha.

Yeah, you know there are SO many complaints of the size of the EVO in the evo forum! Anywho, the xtreme seams like it will be the best of both worlds, almost right in the middle at a 4.1 inch screen! Your DI may be perfect for you, but not everyone! Ohh, and the resolution on the DI, I hated! Look at text on the DI, then on the Moto droid, and it absolutely looks better on the moto........imho

I think the Xtreme could have really worked had it be closer in size to the Incredible instead of the EVO4; even at 4.1 inch screen seems too big for most people. Granted, if they came out with a 5.7 inch, people would buy it cause it was the biggest and latest, but think they are beginning to find, you don't just make something better by making it larger; same thing happened to cameras with Megapixels and we all know where that ended up LOL

An interesting reply over in the Incredible section:

"no thanks on motoblur for sure, it just seems like a mess to me. I really like sense, and other then the battery life on my incredible, i really couldnt ask for anything more out of a phone. I like how sleek it is, the new droid looks like its going to be another brick."

Well, since you didn't quote anything to that effect and WaPo won't let people read it without an account, I guess I'll have to take your word for it.

I'm huge, so I don't think that it will be too big.

That all subjective really; several people I know have the Incredible and not a single problem; excellent build quality

The Droid and Shadow both have better build quality and design the Incredible. Just look at the Incredible's ugly red inside and crappy backing. The EVO has that same ugly red color as well.

BTW, the shadow will be ~1/4" wider and taller than my current BB Storm...which is pretty pocketable.

Well thats a given LOL

Since this is a Motorola forum, I honestly didn't expect anyone to go against what they own. It is like a Toyota Camry, even if people have problems with them, they would still claim they never had a single problem.

Being able to see that no product, in this case phone, is perfect only provide true meaningful feedback. For someone to say the Incredible or the Droid have no flaws says more about the person than it does the device.

True. I know a lot of people think the Droid is ugly but I like it. Same goes for every other phone. To each his/her own.

Sorry, but getting updates faster doesn't make up for the shortcomings of the Droid when compared to the Incredible.

Exactly, faster updates doesn't make up for any device. Sense UI is just superior to stock android. It adds more polish, more widgets and features, and just looks better.

That's debatable. Sense is good, but as Android evolves Sense becomes less useful. Case in point: Sense integrated social networking into Android before Google did. But when Google did it, they did it more seamlessly, and arguably better than HTC did.

You have mentioned just one aspect. But what social networking did Google do better?

I notice that you only mentioned one point in an attempt to validate your argument, and didn't even say what social networking that Google did better.

MAY switch to Xtreme from DI

Don't get me wrong, I love my DI and do not wish to give it up BUT I just got a new job working out side and remotely. Two things are making me consider selling for better daily prof use:

1. AMOLED screen is very nice but sucks in daylight. Will not do.
2. Battery life is fair and I will not be able to plug in much at all. Less of a deal breaker than screen. I can carry batteries.

SO questions are:

1. What screen type is it?
2. Same type as Droid1? If so I can go try one in the sun.
3. How will it do in sunlight?
4. Is it 4.1" or 4.3"? Seen both quoted
5. Will its processor and graphics HW be good compared to 1GHz Sanpdragon on my DI?
6. Moto Blur confirmed?
7. Can you switch Blur off?
8. Will Blur slow updates pushed out? I love Sense but MAN Froyo brought SO many features and improvements, Im surprised they didnt call it 3.0. I know if I keep DI I will be waiting longer than most.
9. Will it be out by end of month? Start new job then.

Sorry for the questions, yes I have searched but I have gotten a ton of conflicting info or are opinions that I don't trust as well as this specialized group. Thanks in advance.

LOL; yeah, thats just it, there will always be those having to buy it just for that, but look at the EVO4...it continues to get slammed for its size.

Motorola is really in not the best financial shape, meanwhile Apple, Samsung, and HTC keep leading the industry.

Hmmmm, i think its perfect.
