Share Battery Life Results

I've never seen battery life this good. And I have then all from Sony Z3 to Nexus 6. Hands down the very best!

WOW this is HORRIBLE BATTERY LIFE

Here are my results for today. I can say that I wasn't too disappointed and know I could have gotten more had it not been for an app keeping my phone awake. Other than that I did some gaming, picture taking, phone calls via Bluetooth, etc. I'm confident that this can easily get me through the day.

See my updated results from the next day. Keep in mind that during the post, GSAM was reporting different results from what the system had logged. Or did you just choose to ignore my next day results completely?

Ok.. Now it all makes sense and I see what's going on here. I think that if I'm able to get about 8 hours of screen on time with actual usage instead of light usage, then I can consider the battery life to be decent. If I can get 10 - 12 hours of screen on time, then I can consider the battery life to be good. Anything over 12 hours of screen on time and the battery life is excellent.

It's 1.5 to 2 hours more screen on time than you are complaining about so what are you talking about. There are so many variables that make up battery life. I've noticed from looking at other threads that Sprint sucks. It might be a good idea for people to say what network they are on to further isolate carrier specific issues or what to expect from a certain carrier. Aside from that, the more screen shots get that posted the more you can find an average by throwing out the outliers that are too high and too low. Right now from looking on this site and XDA I find the average is about 4-5 hours on screen time with 14-16 hours total. Not great but not terrible. Standby time is great and hopefully 5.1 will address run time issues from the chip being way to aggressive on menial tasks.

Theres no way you can get 5 hours on this battery..You barely use the phone and are getting horrid screen time. Bigger battery and old screen tech should equal awesome battery life but with the M9 that just isn't the case.

I think these are isolated occurrences for people with bad signal and/or crappy service providers. I have posted my battery results in another thread and I'm getting great battery life. I'm on AT&T and I have no problems. Pretty sure it's crappy carriers like Sprint.

From my fingers to you on the M8, M9 or the Chromebook! :D

I have Sprint and my signal sucks where I work in my department. I am always on wifi which isn't so great sometimes neither. I always read about GSam and have never had it so I just downloaded it. Do I set anything up on it or just look at my stats when I am down to being low and need to stick it on the charger? And then do a screen shot? Thanks! I always have a charger with me or an external battery pack so I anm always good but I don't see it being worse than the M8 the same if not a little better since I got the update.

You just have to install it and unplug your phone after it is charged 100%. The app records everything in the background so you don't have to set anything after that.
