Ok folks I did a first round of comparison and pixel peeping between the N8 and the V30.
The V30 feels much nicer in the hand, unexpectedly light and easier to handle than the N8. Makes the N8 look awkwardly tall. An 18:9 would have been better than 18.5:9. Every time i pickup the N8 rigt after the LG, it feels like a brick. And God that wide angle is fun to have for everyday compositions.
The N8 screen is miles ahead of LG oled. LG photos look better when viewed on N8.
I'm not an audiophile so I honestly couldn't tell the difference the quad dac of the LG makes, especially with the cheapie Samsung headphones.
I hardly ever take videos so LG's pro quality video recording doesn't do anything for me either.
The LG annoyingly always under exposes all photos in full auto. I constantly had to adjust the brightness slider.
But...I never thought this would be true. If you really sit and pixel peep, the N8 shots have just a tad better detail. Like 5% better. And Sammy post processing punches up the saturation just a tad more than LG making the colors pop more in N8 photos.
I honestly thought the LG was going to win me over and produce noticeably better photos given the reviews say it does compared to the S8 which is more or less the same sensor in our phones. So far I'm not seeing it. Credit to Sammy.
Anyway here are the comparison shots. N8 photos marked with an 'N'
