Nice morning walk on deer island. We are having great weather for this late in fall!

Brief context - deer island is a major water retreatment facility and one of the 13 Boston harbor islands. It treats and processes waste water from greater Boston and then expels it via undersea pipeline far into the Atlantic.

Though it's a treatment facility, Dept of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has turned it into miles and miles of beautiful coastal walking trails. We love coming here!

Beautiful late afternoon / sunset down our beach. Winter creeping in though. 5deg c with a cold sea wind. We were on bikes, hands were numb

Amazing colours. Everything bathed in gold and orange.

Yes, it's great to have a peek at what people see in their daily lives.

I stalk the other manufacturer picture threads, and this one is my favourite. Not just because the N8 produces great shots but people actually post. And they post varied subjects. I always say you can't untake a picture and without people posting it gets pretty dull.

Thanks for the little crush . I must make more use of my front camera. .

What settings did you use to get those great shots especially the one with the waves crashing?

The one with waves was 1/500 , Iso50 ( shooting close to the setting sun ), manual focus on the front. Auto white balance. Took a few to get it right. Love the challenger of using the sun.

Thanks again for the kind words.
Skilled, that's subjective . It's a hobby, no more.

As an engineer I'm more interested in the science and theory behind it.
As a hobbyist I'm more interested in the subjects and composition than pixel peeping or critiquing.

Especially when using a phone ( and in the right hands a lot of phones can now produce great pictures ) I would rather everybody posted their pictures than not.
