Carefully clean the lens area on the back of the phone. It's SO easy to get fingerprints on the lenses, and a smudge on the lens causes an overall blur and lack of contrast - sort of a hazy look to everything.

Do NOT use a paper towel, kleenex, TP, or the like. Paper products usually contain small pieces of very hard grit (sand, essentially), and can scratch lenses, phone screens, glasses, etc. Instead, get some of the pre-moistened lens cleaning towlettes often sold under the Bausch and Lomb or Zeiss brands, or get Kimwipes and a good lens cleaning liquid.

Also, if you're going to use a cloth, make sure it hasn't been washed or dried with any sort of fabric softener. Fabric softeners generally leave a waxy substance on all of the laundry, and that just makes for more greasy smears on lenses.

I see a LOT of cell-phone photos that are "foggy" because the tiny phone-camera lens is smudged/fingerprinted. It's really hard to avoid touching the lenses on phones - and with the fingerprint reader right next to the camera lenses on these phones, it's almost encouraged!

I'm finding that the close-up (macro) results from this phone's camera are impressive. Above is a crop out of the photo above it, which is also a bit of a crop. Pretty decent detail.

And it does fairly well in subdued lighting, although in really low light, it starts to fall apart, but for such a tiny sensor, it's pretty impressive. The main light source for this photo was a TV on the far wall, reflected off of a wall behind me here. I did adjust the white balance for this one, but it wasn't that bad to begin with, actually. Really, this is very good for low light, I think.
