Okay. Just had a duh moment.

There's no beauty mode in pro mode. Shooting people in pro mode negates the skin smoothing, but I'm still unsure of whether it can do anything to combat the motion blurring.

The downside would be no automatic bokeh effect for standard shots of people who are all in the same plane, but I'm sure there are setting for that.

Both of these were shot with the stock S20. Ultra camera.

Beauty mode can be turned off for auto cam as well just hit the wand top right corner, select beauty and turn on in lower right corner

Nope. There's still some MAJOR skin smoothing, even with auto cam turned off. Samsung seems to think we all want to look like china dolls.

What motion are you referring too?

What motion are you referring too?

Just the regular motion of trying to capture people in mid-anything. I found my gcam way had less trouble catching people in action, like mid-stride, mid-head turn, or any other slow or stay motion. It could keep up with my 2 year old as she ran, turned and moved throughout the day without much motion blurring of limbs and face.

The S20, in whatever mode it's in, has trouble when anything moves, and can't seem to capture something and isolate it into one stay frame. It's why I've always had a gcam on all my Samsung devices. The Samsung took care of the video, the gcam took care of the stills.

Wasn't arguing that, simply stating beauty mode can be turned off auto.

Yeah, and I was stating that just because it says "off", it doesn't mean it's off. "Off" should mean "none", but that's far from the truth.

Those are awesome pictures!

If Samsung can fix the focus issues, and the over saturation/skin softness on the back camera - this would be a fantastic camera all around. I do not understand how the front facing camera is fine with faces - but the back camera is totally the opposite (on auto)

The reason I asked is because you mentioned pro mode. You should be able to mitigate motion after you press the shutter using a faster shutter speed.

Yeah, which makes me sad. I mean, I wish this camera was as point and shoot friendly as a pixel, but I guess that's as much the software as it is the hardware.
