sharing a contact with sense 4 on one x

It isn't working for me.

I go to contact. Click share. Click mail. Click gmail. Click send.

Then it wants a user name and password. If I enter it, it then sets up a new mail account.

This is our company phone. Have tested it on all the (small company) and no dice. Coming from Nexus S where this was very simple.
