I went ahead and did the live chat to get info on repairs. Seems ok. Doesn't sound like it'll cost as much as I feared either. We'll see what I actually get a real quote.
What sucks is I'll have to wipe my device.
It'll ship out today so hopefully the process won't take too long. One thing I thought was odd is that they asked to put the IMEI number on the outside of the box. That's not something I'd want out in the open, is it? I just left my original order receipt in the box with that number on it, so they'll find it there.
I did the same thing. Put it inside. Much safer. It'll ship out today so hopefully the process won't take too long. Not repaired. Had it replaced. The original phone would not set up. Screen locked up on the blue welcome. You getting repairs done too? How's the experience been for you?
Another option is to check with your credit card company. I lost my Nexus 5X one year within the first month. My credit card company gave me full refund since they have a damage and lost/theft protection within 90 days of purchase.

Yea I definitely don't mind that price, considering the big deductibles I've heard people pay for getting replacements through their carriers. My friend cracked the screen on her GS6 Active a while back and AT&T took 200 bucks to get it replaced. Granted that's a replacement, not a repair, but still. That's actually not bad considering it's being repaired by OP directly and not a third party. it could've been worse! I keep thinking if a third party protection plan would be worth getting but I think I might hold off
$137 all told... Parts, labor, and shipping.
It was due to get back to me Friday, but the weather here in NJ had other ideas. Hopefully Monday!
Good deal. I have positive regards for the Acer center in Temple TX as far as quick fixes. This went much better than if it was a BlackBerry.Got my 5T back today and all seems well. 18 days from the drop to getting it back, seemingly good as new. Not too bad.
