Shipping notification....Who's first?

When I step back and look at myself, I can't help but feel pathetic that I'm letting the receipt of an electronic device have such a strong effect on me... It's not like my OG Evo is in dire disrepair or anything, it's doing its job. But here I am, hitting F5 like the rest of us and thirstily seeking any tidbit of information. Even browsing the forums during work hours (which I almost *never* do). I just hope all of this anticipation won't leave me crestfallen when I finally receive the phone (my precioussssssss!)

Just a couple more days, hopefully :)

I think we are all feeling the same way. How much time did I waste today by stalking the forums, Sprint.com/myorder, my email, the UPS site, etc? I've even contemplated sitting on my porch with my work computer when I finally get my shipment number and know it's out for delivery. Yep, I feel like I need to get a life.

I think for most it's that the phone has already been paid for, so this lack of information is extremely frustrating. Plus some probably feel that HTC and or Sprint knew that this action would be taken has the feeling they pulled the wool over our eyes.

If they hadn't announced the May 18 date I think people would be much calmer. OK, maybe a little calmer. The 'Picked and packed" information made it worse too because people were expecting the phones to ship out within hours of the customs release, which seems clear now isn't the case.

I agree. Its reported that Sprint will START shipping phones on or near the 24th

I'm not sweating it. I know its coming and i'm gonna enjoy it when i do get it

I'd like to get it soon. This one x needs to go back to best buy.

"Sprint expects to begin shipping HTC EVO 4G LTE for arrival on or around Thursday, May 24 to customers who pre-ordered the device online from Sprint."

Sad to say, but I worked for a company that was in bankruptcy and this was the kind of phrasing I used to talk to vendors about their outstanding payments. I really hope they're just being cautious and my phone will arrive tomorrow.

Chalk today up as a loss yall, hope for better news tomorrow.

Should've been sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE using Android Central Forums.

Yep, also as stated:

Thank you for pre-ordering the EVO 4G LTE. We will do our best to get it to you by Thursday, May 24.

Problem is, unless they're literally overnighting it to everyone, most people won't be getting it by then.

If they are going to now claim they are going to START shipping on or near the 24th, then they better update our order status yet again -- since they announced this they have been saying this: "We will do our best to get it to you by Thursday, May 24"

This is all making me (even more) psychotic - every time I see that I have new gmail, I drop whatever I'm doing to check. When it's not a shipping notice from Sprint, it breaks my heart. Over and over and over again.

Wow, I probably should get out of the house for a bit...:p

One of the first articles to report on the change of status misquoted the sprint status by saying the phones will ship on the 24th rather than arrive by the 24th. A lot of other articles have since been quoting that same original article that was misquoting in the first place. I wouldn't be too worried. That phrasing was appearing already at the same time our order status changed. I think we'll start seeing them tomorrow and/or Thursday.

@InsideSprintNow wasn't on 2day's upate call b/c of a sched conflict - havent heard anything about 3rd pty launch yet but do know pre-orders r shipping still

well if pre-orders are still shipping im hoping that we'll hear soon. maybe theyre holding the tracking info, etc. until all the pre-orders have left the warehouse. then we'll all get the notification at once...

if they're anything like some of the big retailers, we'll get the shipping notification the day after it arrives.

which, in this case, is OK by me.

Except UPS would update the status once they loaded it on their truck...and that hasn't happened yet either. Unless mine was at the bottom of the pile. No movement on these preorders as far as I'm concerned. Not sure what sprint is trying to accomplish here. Get the damn things out of your warehouse already!

thats what im wondering. but since sprint has the dedicated space at that ups facility in kentucky, they might be able to hold all notifications until they decide they should go out.

No, the screen shot on ISN shows delivery is expected by the 24th.

Edit: I am sure sprint gets a big discount, but overnight shipping is not cheap 2nd day air isn't either but it would make much more financial sense to sprint to have gotten them out yesterday 3rd day or today 2nd day to their customers. They are going to waste the 200 price that they have already subsidized on shipping.

Not to mention I am a new customer, they should be wanting to get my money as soon as possible, and ship
My phone so they can start charging me for their services.
