How do you know this? Sprint hasn't said a word about any release besides the pre-order people, who were always said to get it early, so it's not like that date is all encompassing at this moment, especially since even the Sprint Insider doesn't know when retailers are getting the phones.
I pre-ordered, but at Best Buy. I did the same thing for the original Evo and got it the same day with zero issues. Why would I spend $50 more for no reason?
...9:15pm EST and still no update on the UPS status. Yikes! 24th my ass.

I don't know this for a fact, just from the info that I have heard along with the X amount of people that have heard the same information. I could care less if I get this phone on the 24th or on the 24th of July. I want the Evo as my next phone, I pre-ordered and I know I'll get one first when they do ship. All the complaining you and everyone is doing isn't going to get your phone shipped any faster.
And for the lack of communication on Sprints end...who cares??? Half the people on here are pissed off and want free stuff, the other half know that they are getting a phone soon. Sprint could have done a better job, but they didn't and that's not going to change anything at this point.
I pre-ordered at best buy too
So don't expect your phone on the 24th
Sprint isn't stressing 3rd party dealers and
they shouldn't
I'll start complaining by the end of Friday if I don't hear anything its just been 1 day relax
this is the price we pay going through a 3rd party dealer to save money
I'm happy for you that saved that $50. You could of saved more if you used that flywire link... Oh but they won't get the phones before anyone else, so i guess I paid full price to get it early.
I do understand where you are coming from, but what does it really accomplish?
Obviously a lot of people care. That's why the unofficial Insider blog got 30,000 new hits a few days ago, because paying customers want information and Sprint isn't giving any to the bulk of them (or any f them up until yesterday). I love Sprint and have thought they were the best carrier for years now and always recommend them, but this handling post-customs crap is very odd. Why can't Sprint tell people when they expect the phone to be in-stores? It's not that hard of a question for a company that has done this countless times before.
Are you kidding me? Best Buy isn't some off-shoot discount website, it's a major launch partner that has been there day one with all the other Sprint launches. Sometimes some Sprint.com orders get there a day early, but what you're claiming is that it's routine business for Best Buy and every other retailer to have quite low priority when it comes to a flagship phone launch? That is not reasonable whatsoever.
You're like, arguing a point I'm not even making at all. I'm not complaining about not getting it early and not getting it when Sprint.com people are getting it. I'm complaining about the fact that Sprint has these phones, is supposedly shipping them, but apparently has no plan drafted for what stores are getting them and when.
think please!!!
this whole thing as been a cluster
Sprint and Best Buy aren't going to make a announcement and get it wrong AGAIN
gave it a couple of days
Sprint and Best Buy don't know standard shipping logistics and times now?

Hey look at the overall tone of each thread. Looks like everyone is turning on each other because they have no one to take out their anger on.
Just a friendly reminder, we're all here for the same reason. We like this phone and we're looking forward to owning it. Frustrating to see the delay and its amplified because we're online (which feels like forever) so much checking.
So let us sing Kum Ba Yah together
Kum ba yah, my lord, kum ba yah
Kum ba yah, my lord, kum ba yah
Kum ba yah, my lord, kum ba yah
Oh lord, kum ba yah...........
