Shooting Mode: Action Shot

This seems like a very cool feature, potentially. But, I cannot seem to figure out exactly how this is supposed to work. I am not clear on what triggers the actual photos being taken, nor what the moving green rectangle is doing. I was trying to do this at my kid's basketball game, with a lot of moving people. Didn't take as many pictures has I had hoped...

Anyone have instructions on this, or some hints on how to use it?

I'm wondering the same thing. When i use it, it just multiplies the person into every frame. I'll keep testing it out.
