shortcut to Favorites group ?

I have an HTC Hero (with 2.1) and my wife has a Samsung Moment (with 2.1). Back in the 1.5 days my Hero had a shortcut/tab to the 'Favorites' group but now it seems to be gone? Instead, on 2.1, I have to do an extra step and I have to pick through a menu, too:
> People > Groups > Favorites
My wife's phone has generic 2.1 and her contacts still has the Favorites tab.

Is there a way to make a direct shortcut to this group?

Ideally I'd like to replace the generic 'People' widget with one that went straight to the Favorites group. I already have FolderOrganizer Lite installed but I couldn't figure-out any way to make it do it.

Long press on home screen > widget > people > select what widget style you want > favorites

I believe that's what you want. Make sure you got enough room for it though. The choices are rather large.

also can long press > folder > starred for a 1x1 folder of your favorites on the HS

No problem. I'm still trying to figure all of the ins and outs myself. This was one question I knew the answer to.
