Should I accept update?

When I left DE Saturday I manually checked for an update, hoping for the Gingerbread update, nothing of course. Today in M.B., SC I checked again manually and much to my surprise there was an update available.

The update available is "mecha_verizon_wwe_1.13.605.7-1.12.605.6", now I'm 99.999999999% sure this is the update that came out in May that gave everyone issues with reboots and battery issues and is of course not Gingerbread.

With all this said I'm sure I'm answering my own question, should I or shouldn't I accept the update? I'm thinking not of course, but I am wondering why after nearly 2 months of not being able to get it at home is it available after traveling several hundred miles away.

Damn it where is my Gingerbread update?

Thanks,

Zameis

I fretted over this update however I, let me restate that, I have had no issues with this update as of yet. I have had it for about 1.5 weeks now and nothing of note so to speak of.

NO!!!!!! unless I want to put on the mr2 update. When your thunderbolt won't stop rebooting

I wouldn't touch any update with a 10 foot pole until it's been out at least 2 weeks and been tried by all the "I got have it's" on here first. :D

Some people have had issues, some haven't. If you aren't having issues now, why chance it? If you are having a lot of problems with data connectivity, maybe it's worth a shot.

I bought my phone new from ebay seller end of May and never had update. When checking "about phone" and software shows 1.13.605.7 as installed. Does this mean came with dreaded update already? I have had no reboots or any problems other than phone that is hungry for battery.
Thanks guys,
Doc

Unless I'm mistaken that is the mr1 update. Just keep doing whatever you are doing.

you are mr1 already. i had mr1 for over a month, and maybe, a handfull of reboots total. I had reboot and shutdown problems before mr1 as well. anyways, if you don't have problems, don't worry about it. if you are having data connection drops or loss or data then you can consider the leaked mr2 update.

@CM also-thanks for the information. Phone is behaving so will probably wait for official MR2 update.

Thanks for all the input, I think I'm gonna hold off until Gingerbread comes out as I'm not having issues with reboots and battery life not terribly bad.

I also thought it was strange that in my home area there was no update available but travel several hundred miles away and Verizon makes an update that's been out for a couple months available. Figure no use asking Verizon, it's like calling HQ where you work for an answer to a question, it's never the same.

Thanks again.

I myself have had no issues with the update since the day it was released..but it seems depending on your network location you can have terrible reboots. its about a 50/50 shot.

i would air on the side of caution hold off on the update.

I live in Central jersey and the reboots aren't really bad. last time I had one was like a week ago and before than months ago

This is the MR1 update and I STRONGLY recommend NOT updating to it, even if you intend to install the leaked MR2 on top of it why take the chance? Other than a sporadic issue with camcorder sound and slow GPS (on some devices) there was nothing wrong with the launch firmware. Hold out until the real MR2 is released.
