Should I buy a 2nd V20?

I love my V20 but..... I wouldn't bother. I'm a huge fan of used smart phones. My last 4 phones have been used. Bought my current V20 on Swappa for a steal, and it was in mint condition. My point is - I think you'll be able to find mint, used V20's in the next year easily.

Now, if you want to worry about something.... batteries in a year or so. But I know you're cycling through 5 ;) Still, I AM concerned that I won't be able to find a good, legitimate battery in a year. A "new" battery that has been sitting around for 1+ years is garbage IMHO.

People don't take care of their phones.. I have OCD.. only will buy "like new" phones.. with no scratches on screen.. Almost all used phones I bought were pretty banged up, screen was scratched if you held it under bright light. Rather buy new because I take care of my stuff.

Totally understand that, but you can find sellers on Swappa that have similar OCD's. Just look at their posts for all phones. The guy I bought my V20 from "upgraded" about every three months. And, he threw in 3 cases - phone looked brand new without a scratch anywhere. And true to his word, it had a recent manufacturing date.

Still, I can understand wanting new. But, like a gently used car, you can get a damn good discount on slightly used phones.

I bought mine in allegedly "NOS" condition, and it truly was -- when I turned it on it had MARCH firmware on it, and spent nearly an hour sequentially grabbing updates! Why it didn't just do the latest, well, who knows -- but apparently Google's delta update system doesn't work that way.

Not a scratch on it either....

I like Swappa but also don't like it.. I've sold many phones on there no problems. Bought 2 different phones.. one was a V20.. it was a dealer selling brand new.. checked the IMEI and turns out it had an EIP balance... returned it right away.. went and bought on B&H Photo Video instead..

V20 now discontinued...

I was eyeing the T-Mobile V20 brand new on eBay, last price was $255. Now it's gone and also the Unlocked V20 is gone from B&H's website. Swappa does not have any brand new V20s. Kinda sucks they discontinued it, I bet it would've kept on selling as replacement devices... well hang on to your V20's, it's the last of it... I don't like buying used phones..people don't know how to take care of them. It'll be the last you'll ever see with removable batteries in your lifetime and the last you'll see with an IR blaster and whacky but cool 2nd screen display, and an "old school" headphone jack with the best audio tech everyone else is still behind on. Enjoy this masterpiece, all we're going to see now are generic flagships.

If anyone knows where I can find a brand new T-Mobile V20, let me know. I slept on it. Hanging on to my unlocked V20 though.

Re: V20 now discontinued...

I still have mine since no one wanted to pay me 400 or even 300 for mine with $200 in accessories. It's slow even after a reaet but I still love it. The V10 must have been really slow for me to ever think the V20 was quick. I wonder if I will find my V30 to be the same way whenever I replace it.

Anyway it's a good spare phone and with the replaceable battery I can basically keep it in service indefinitely. We just ended up having to use it as a spare when the fiancée had to send in her G6 for service for the second time.

I'm waiting for the LG V30s with 256GB storage...

Re: V20 now discontinued...

I still have my V20, but it's the third one. First one was replaced because of a blown external speaker, the second one the mic's stopped working. The third one has been the charm and has worked very well, but I have been eying a V30+ for a while now. Now that LG has a newer version of the V30 coming out, I am waiting to see what LG has updated on this V30. In the meantime, I can't complain about the V20. Excellent phone and multimedia experience. If it wasn't for my two previous V20's having to be replaced, I would say that this is the best phone I have ever used. A year and a half later, it still is a great phone.

Strange, my V20 lasted well over a year with no problems. It can serve me for another 3 years I'm predicting.. waiting on the next LG phone.

Are there still totally new never touched by human hands V20 around?

Yep the one I picked up a few weeks back was brand new off Ebay but yes they are getting trickier but just keep an eye out on there! Since I didn't have any luck anywhere else.

None left anymore that I could see. A lot of "new (other)" junk with bogus chargers etc. One claimed to be new however seller has recent reports of bad imei in reviews so I wouldn't buy anything they sell.

The link didn't work for me but did you get brand new in LG box with LG accessories? I notice in url you picked Tmobile. Does he have VZW? Anyway I searched ebay and nobody in USA selling truly new LG V20.

Brand new in LG Box with yes LG accessories he only sells AT&T and T-mobile new V20 models it looks like.

Yeah I checked eBay and there's no more. I was eyeing the new T-Mobile one for $259.99. B&H sold out. Oh well, I'll just get the V30s or something.

Don't ever buy "New Other" condition on eBay because technically it's not brand new. Only buy "Brand New" on eBay. eBay has buyer protection so you don't need to worry, safer than Swappa.

Yeah they are pretty much all gone.. might be more "Overstock" coming later on. Some still might be carried at certain stores.. Target, Walmart, T-Mobile, etc. If you get a carrier branded one you can always unlock it. Maybe check Best Buy too.
