Should I buy another tablet?

I am in need of a new tablet for school after my 2012 Nexus 7 has died on it. It won't turn on or charge. Should I go ahead an buy a Nexus 7 2013 or another tablet from LG, Samsung, so on and so forth, or just wait for the Nexus 8/9.

That is the question. I would prefer to wait. Don't know if I can because I am needing it for school as most of my books are ebooks.

yet, if you do need it urgently, check out the Samsungs, you might get a bit interested.
