Should I buy nexus 7 2013?

Hi! I've had 1th gen nexus for a year and I really like it. But it's screen got cracked(while just being in a case in a backpack). Now I want to buy new tablet and new nexus 7 looks very interesting, but I googled a little and found alot forum threads about cracked screens not even dropping it.
I'd like to take it to school in my backpack, use on trips and etc. I'll buy a case for it too, if I buy it.
Should I buy it? I mean does it break too easily for a schoolboy(not dropping it) and it's not worth the risk or not?

I've carried my Nexus 7 to school every day since the beginning of the semester. I've never heard of this issue of the screen cracking. I'd say if a 7 inch tablet is your device of choice then you can't go wrong considering the nexus 7. It's a pleasure to hold and hasn't given me any issues since I got it in the beginning of August.

Hi there, I have the new Nexus 7 2013 and luckily after my dumbass has dropped it 4 or 5 times from my bed I would say approximately 2 1/2 to 3 feet high on to my hardwood floors I've been very fortunate to not have any scratches or cracks. The only thing that has happened is one time it landed on the power cable and I had to replace the USB Micro cable.
Beyond that I've been very lucky or its pretty damn rugged despite what the critics say. Anyway I think you will do fine. Get a decent 30 or 40 dollar case for when your mobile though

You should be fine . get a case and that will help and go a long way towards protecting it.
